Network

A network is a group of interconnected devices, whether computers, printers, or even smart home devices, that exchange data and information between them. Imagine the network as a highway where cars (data) move between cities (devices).

Why do we use networks?

• Sharing resources: Devices connected to the network can share resources such as printers, files, and the Internet.
Communication: Networks facilitate communication between individuals via email, chat, and video conferencing.
Access to information: Networks provide access to a vast amount of information available on the Internet.
Collaboration: Networks facilitate teamwork and the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
Types of networks:
Local area network (LAN): Connects devices in a limited geographical location such as a home or office.
Wide area network (WAN): Connects devices in large geographical areas such as cities or countries, like the Internet.
Wireless network (WLAN): Uses radio waves to connect devices without the need for wires.

Basic network components:

Computers: These are the main devices that connect to the network.
Routers: Connect networks together and direct data traffic.
Switches: Connect devices within the local network.
Network cables: used to transfer data between devices.
Network cards: allow devices to connect to the network.

Network protocols:

A set of rules that define how data is exchanged between devices. The most popular protocol is TCP/IP, which is used on the Internet.

Examples of networking use:

Home: to connect to the Internet, share files, and control smart home devices.
Offices: to exchange files, communicate between employees, and access company servers.
Internet: the largest global network that connects billions of devices and people.

In short, networks are an integral part of our daily lives, facilitating communication, accessing information, and contributing to technological progress
